Agilent Oscilloscope With N8817A JTAG Protocol Application
N8817A JTAG protocol decode and triggering is introduced into Agilent Technologies' Infiniium scopemeter family. Previously, development teams need to ensure JTAG visibility on protocol layer, thus the team need to manually decode JTAG signals and take measurements, and such process requires lots of time and it is prone to errors.
JTAG is a standard which also recognized as IEEE 1149.1 and such standard is applied on virtually all nowaday's ICs and PCBs. JTAG scan chains are extensively utilized to execute test for communication with IC subsystem and manufacturing tests. Most of the time the subsystem only has JTAG as interface thus correct JTAG operation is crucial to development of device.
