Velleman 10 MHz Portable Oscilloscope 2MHz Analogue Bandwidth Review

Velleman 10 MHz Portable Oscilloscope has sensitivity of maximum 5mV/div which makes it an ideal choice for automative, development, hobby, educational and service purposes. At a small price of $195.00 it has up to Up to 2MHz Analogue Bandwidth and Ttrigger Mode (normal, slope, run, roll, once +/-). This portable aka handheld oscilloscope is not a graphical multimeter and allows you to do measurements on mains voltage applications, car stereos, audio equipment, all kind of sensors, digital signals and more. It is powered by RISC processor 20MHZ offers fast processing power.

The battery life is up to 20 hours and Valleman 10 MHz portable oscilloscope uses 9Vdc / min. 500mA adapter or you can option to use alkaline battery type AA or 5 pieces of rechargeable NiCd/NiMH. Those features, as mentioned above might sound interesting, however some users gave some bad reviews on this instrument. ESL from Netherland gave 1 out of 5 stars claimed that the valleman oscilloscope is useless for serious work. He mentioned that apart from misleading specs information, the protable instrument only applies to 3 of the voltage ranges (20V and 50 mV/1V) and the 2 MHz bandwidth only available within the ranges. A sine wave is not produced properly, waveform degradation start at about 1 MHz in the ranges and he mentioned that this is truly unaccurate oscilloscope even the values of voltage are presnted with three to four digits.

Another bad review from Roman A.Yankov from Fremont California gave a worst rating of 1 out of 5 stars for this portable oscilloscope from Velleman. Roman said it is impossible to use this equipment for professional work plus the worst display. One good review from David Knaack from Omaha gave the product of rating 5 out of 5 stars. For the cheap price, he mentioned that anyone cannot expect professional qualities out of it. The portable instrument is indispensable for some professional audio work and hobbyists. However he hoped for newer products that have same features at the price range similar to Valleman 10 MHz portable oscilloscope. Reader can learn more on this handheld product from here.

The negative reviews you refer too are in error. I just finished a new review and the scope does far better than the prior technical evaluation written in Amazon. It rates 4 Stars as a professional instrument, if you know how to properly use this scope. I will add this review to Amazon within the month. The scope now sells for $120, how can you lose?
